Fun Things To Do In Wichita
For nearly ten years, I have been told that there really isn’t “anything fun to do in Wichita” by people who have lived here most–if not ALL–of their lives. The strange thing is that even though I moved here 10 years ago with my family from Seattle, WA, I have been surprised by the number of things that we have found to do that are really enjoyable here in what I would call a “medium-sized” city. There is a music scene that is quite active, especially in the Old Town area of Wichita with places like Mort’s, The Brickyard, and Loft 150, just to name a few. The live theater scene here is also constantly full of dramas, musicals, and the hilarious and fun Roxy’s Cabaret. There is even a regular weekly dose of stand-up comedians from places like Comedy Central at the local LIVE at 215 Performance Theater, known in previous years at the Loony Bin Comedy Club.
Over the last few years I have been working on a concept for a new show that has finally come to fruition. While all of these venues above are excellent entertainment, people tire quickly of just another night out on the town with drinks and live music. The comedians are great, but only if you are in the mood for a lot of R-rated shenanigans. What is something fun and amazing that intelligent adults can go do and see that will make for a fun and amazing night out that isn’t just another of the same old options that they have had before them for many years?
Well, my brand-new show called “The Mastermind Show” is my answer to that question! It’s an intimate, warm, and light-hearted evening of amazing magic of the mind for adults and youth ages 13 and up. The show is a Wichita event like none other! It is a weekly show lasting 75-90 minutes that dives deep into the hearts and minds of the audience, hacking into their minds and pulling out random thoughts such as the names of people they’re thinking of, places they’ve visited, and perhaps a fun secret or two. I demonstrate fun and remarkable powers of psychological influence while they pick random objects during the show and even give them a chance to win $100! I often finish up the program by giving out answers to questions that the audience is merely thinking about in a demonstration of mind reading that has made some charlatans internationally famous for centuries.
Forget your preconceived ideas of what a magic show, a magician, or a mentalist is and come on out and see what all of the buzz is about and experience something fun and extraordinary. The brand-new MASTERMIND SHOW!
